I. To encourage the farmers and entrepreneurs engaged
in cultivation of flowers and allied activities and
to attract new floriculture units in to Tamil Nadu,
the Government has recently announced a policy on
'Commercial Floriculture in Tamil Nadu'.
II.
Following concessions have been extended to the Floriculture
Units in Tamil Nadu:
A)
Floriculture Units shall be levied L.T. Tariff III-A
under the Tamil Nadu Revision
of Tariff Rates on Supply of Electrical Energy Act,
1978. The concession shall however be restricted to
10 HP. The requests for power connection from entrepreneurs
of new floriculture units, will be considered immediately.
B)
Capital subsidy shall be granted to floriculture units
upto 20% of the fixed assets subject to a ceiling
of Rs. 2.0 million. The following items shall also
be included in the fixed assets in addition to the
fixed assets already defined:
a)Green
house structure,
b)Irrigation
and Fertigation equipment,
c)Cold
room, grading room and mobile refrigerated truck equipments.
d)Sales
Tax Concession at the rate of 3% shall be granted
on purchase or raw materials, other inputs and components
imported for setting up of floriculture units.
e)Exemption
will be granted from payment of the charges of Rs.10,000/-
(Rupees ten thousand only) per annum levied by the
Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board for clearance of
setting up of the unit.
